Creating RDS for GaussDB Data Connections
Before establishing a data connection to RDS for GaussDB, ensure that the following conditions are met:
- You have obtained the IP address, port number, username, and password of RDS for GaussDB.
- To enable network communication between DLV and RDS, you can use a VPC connection as a network proxy. Create a VPC connection by referring to instructions in Managing VPC Connections.
Creating an RDS for GaussDB Data Connection
- Log in to the DLV console.
- On the Data page, click the workspace drop-down list at the top of the page, select the workspace to be accessed, and click New Data Connection.

- In the New Data Connection dialog box, set Data Source Type to RDS for GaussDB and set the related parameters.

Table 1 describes the RDS for GaussDB data connection parameters.

Description
Name
Name of the data connection. Must contain 1 to 32 characters and contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_).
Instance ID
ID of the database instance.
Host
After an instance ID is selected, an intranet IP address of a database is automatically matched. The domain name cannot be changed.
Port
After an instance ID is selected, a database port is automatically matched. The port cannot be changed.
Username
Username of the database. The database user must have permission to access data tables and metadata.
Password
Password of the database user.
Agent
Select an available connection agent, such as VPC connection, CDM proxy, or Internet. To use the VPC connection, create a VPC connection by referring to instructions in Managing VPC Connections.
- Click OK.
Using GaussDB Data Sources
You can configure and use GaussDB data sources by referring to the instructions in Using DWS Data Sources.
