Clearing Binlogs from DB Instances
Scenarios
You can clear local binlogs with a few clicks for RDS for MySQL instances to free up storage space.
Binlog Clearing Based on Specified Retention Period
RDS for MySQL allows you to clear the binlogs exceeding the specified retention period with just a few clicks.
Precautions
- There is a delay in clearing binlogs. Every time after clearing binlogs, check whether the occupied by these binlogs was released. Do not submit the request multiple times.
- The following binlogs cannot be cleared using this function:
- Binlogs that are not backed up to OBS yet
- Binlogs that have not been synchronized to the standby instance
- Binlogs that have not been received by the incremental backup parsing tool
Procedure
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner of the page and choose Databases > Relational Database Service. - On the Instances page, click the target instance name.
- In the navigation pane, choose Backups & Restorations. On the Binlog Backups tab page, click Clear Binlogs.
- In the displayed dialog box, click OK.
