Enabling Flexible TPS for a RocketMQ Instance
TPS (Transaction per second) indicates the total number of produced and consumed messages per second, that is, the total throughput of message production and consumption per second.
When the throughput exceeds flavor's maximum TPS, traffic will be limited, causing failed production and consumption. In this case, enable flexible TPS to increase the TPS.
Flexible TPS allows the TPS of message production and consumption to exceed the baseline limitation. In this case, you will be billed for the excess.
For example, assume that you purchased a RocketMQ 5.x professional edition instance of rocketmq.p2.large.8 with basic TPS 4000 and elastic TPS 2000. Enabling flexible TPS for the instance increases the maximum TPS to 6,000. When the TPS is less than 4,000, fees incur as preconfigured. When the TPS is 4,000–6,000, fees incur for the excess. When the TPS exceeds 6,000, traffic is limited.
Prerequisite
A RocketMQ 5.x professional edition instance has been purchased.
Procedure
- Log in to the RocketMQ console.
- Click a RocketMQ instance name to go to the instance overview page.
- In the Connection area, click
next to Flexible TPS. - Flexible TPS allows the TPS of message production and consumption to exceed baseline specifications. In this case, you will be billed for the excess.
- Without flexible TPS, the TPS of message production and consumption is limited to baseline specifications.
- Click OK.
