Can I Use an Incremental Backup to Restore Data After a Full Backup Is Deleted?
Yes.
CBR allows you to use any backup, no matter it is a full or incremental one, to restore the full data of a resource. By virtue of this, manual or automatic deletion of a backup will not affect the restoration function.
Suppose backups A, B, and C are generated sequencely for server X and every backup involves data changes.
- If backup A is deleted, you can still use backup B or C to restore data.
- If backup B is deleted, you can still use backup A or C to restore data.
- If backups A and B are deleted, you can still use backup C to restore data.
