8.0.0.3 kernel version

The following issues are resolved or optimized:

  • Internal invoking of system functions.
  • Result set is duplicate when a column-based table is queried using the in expression.
  • Core issues related to the sublink pull-up occur in the target list.
  • Out of memory error occurs on the CN because the insert into select statement is not pushed down.
  • Error occurs when data imported using GDS contains \0.
  • Error occurs when the JDBC driver executes the SQL statement with the in condition.
  • Memory bloat occurs when the audit function pgxc_query_audit is executed.
  • GBK data in the fixed format is inconsistent when imported to the UTF8 database.

2

Added the second generation of the EVS storage type. Users can set the storage type and storage capacity.

When creating a cluster, you can select Second Generation as required. This flavor is used for EVS disks. You can set the storage type and storage capacity, and storage resources are billed independently.

3

Added yearly/monthly packages for storage.

You can select the package type as capacity or node.

4

Added the help panel on the console.

When you log in to the console to use GaussDB(DWS), you can view instructions on the help panel to quickly understand related application scenarios, best practices, and FAQs.

3

gs_dump, gs_dumpall

  • gs_dump: Exports a single database or its objects.
  • gs_dumpall: Exports all databases in a cluster or common global objects each database.

1

Fine-grained permission control

The IAM service provides fine-grained access control.

On IAM, the administrator (that is, a user in the admin user group) can create a custom policy containing various required permissions. After a policy is granted to a user group, users in the group can obtain all permissions defined by the policy.

2

Canceling read-only status on the console

The read-only status of a cluster can be canceled on the management console. Only v1.7.2 or later support this feature.

Updated database kernel functions

  • UPDATE supported alias and table name reference.
  • You can specify a schema during index creation. The specified schema must be the same as that where the base table resides.
  • Added the alter table modify null/not null syntax.
  • Added the support for the alter sequence maxvalue operation.
  • Limited the temporary tablespace and operator disk flushing space.
  • Removed the sub-statement records from TopSQL.

Automatic parameter tuning

GaussDB(DWS) supports the automatic parameter tuning.

GaussDB(DWS) uses the deep learning algorithms to perform automatic training based on typical service scenarios specified by users. After the training, the system obtains a group of optimal parameters that can be used for cluster configuration. In this way, users can be freed from complex parameter configuration, and the cluster configuration is more suitable for actual scenarios.

Beta test

2

Added the request parameter Enterprise Project.

Added the Enterprise Project parameter to the API.
