What's New

The following tables describe the features released in each GaussDB(DWS) version and corresponding documentation updates. New features will be successively released in each region.
December 2020
| No. | Feature | Description | Phase | Documentation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 8.0.0.3 kernel version | The following issues are resolved or optimized:
| Commercial use | - |
| 2 | Added the second generation of the EVS storage type. Users can set the storage type and storage capacity. | When creating a cluster, you can select Second Generation as required. This flavor is used for EVS disks. You can set the storage type and storage capacity, and storage resources are billed independently. | Commercial use | |
| 3 | Added yearly/monthly packages for storage. | You can select the package type as capacity or node. | Commercial use | |
| 4 | Added the help panel on the console. | When you log in to the console to use GaussDB(DWS), you can view instructions on the help panel to quickly understand related application scenarios, best practices, and FAQs. | Commercial use | - |
July 2020
| No. | Feature | Description | Phase | Documentation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Real-time data warehouse | GaussDB(DWS) supports real-time data warehouses. | Beta test | Create Service Ticket to apply for OBT. |
| 2 | Workload management | Workload management enables concurrent and independent execution of two types of jobs. | Commercial use | |
| 3 | gs_dump, gs_dumpall |
| Commercial use |
April 2020
| No. | Feature | Description | Phase | Documentation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fine-grained permission control | The IAM service provides fine-grained access control. On IAM, the administrator (that is, a user in the admin user group) can create a custom policy containing various required permissions. After a policy is granted to a user group, users in the group can obtain all permissions defined by the policy. | Commercial use | |
| 2 | Canceling read-only status on the console | The read-only status of a cluster can be canceled on the management console. Only v1.7.2 or later support this feature. | Commercial use |
March 2020

December 2019
| No. | Feature | Description | Phase | Documentation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Automatic parameter tuning | GaussDB(DWS) supports the automatic parameter tuning. GaussDB(DWS) uses the deep learning algorithms to perform automatic training based on typical service scenarios specified by users. After the training, the system obtains a group of optimal parameters that can be used for cluster configuration. In this way, users can be freed from complex parameter configuration, and the cluster configuration is more suitable for actual scenarios. | Beta test |
|
| 2 | Added the request parameter Enterprise Project. | Added the Enterprise Project parameter to the API. | Commercial use | - |
