Activating a Cluster

Prerequisites

  • A dedicated HSM cluster has been created.
  • Dedicated HSM instances have been initialized.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner of the management console and select a region or project.
  3. Click . Choose Security & Compliance > Data Encryption Workshop.
  4. In the navigation pane, choose Dedicated HSM > Clusters.
  5. Add a master HSM. In the Cluster Status column of a cluster, click Add Master HSM.

    Only an initialized HSM instance can be added.

  6. Configure HSM parameters. For more information, see Table 1. Click OK. The cluster status will change to Initializing.

    Parameter

    Description

    Master HSM

    Name of a master HSM instance

    Authorization Code

    Authorization code of the master HSM instance

  7. Add a slave HSM. In the Cluster Status column of the cluster that has a master HSM added, click Add Slave HSM and configure HSM parameters.

    • The cluster can be activated only after the master and slave HSMs are added.
    • The initialization takes about 2 to 5 minutes.
    • Currently, only specific HSM models are supported. You can submit a service ticket to ask for more details.
