Step 2: Obtaining Access Keys (AK and SK)

Scenarios

When you log in to OBS Console using your HUAWEI CLOUD account or as an IAM user, OBS uses your account or IAM user information for authentication.

When you access OBS using the tools (OBS Browser+ and obsutil), SDKs, or APIs, instead of your account or IAM user information, OBS requires the access keys (AK and SK) of your account or IAM user for authentication. Therefore, you need to obtain the access keys (AK and SK) before you access OBS using these methods.

Procedure

  1. Log in to management console.
  2. Hover the cursor on the username in the upper right corner and select My Credentials from the drop-down list.
  3. In the navigation pane, select Access Keys.
  4. Click Create Access Key.
  5. On the Create Access Key page, enter the login password.
  6. Enter the verification code sent to your email or mobile phone.

    For users created through IAM, if no email address or mobile number is specified during user creation, only the login password needs to be authenticated.

  7. Click OK to download the access key file.

    To prevent the access keys from being leaked, keep them secure.
