Step 3: Reset the ECS Password and Log In to the ECS

After purchasing an ECS on the Quick Config page, you are required to reset the password. This section describes how to reset the password on the management console and remotely log in to the ECS through the console.

Resetting the ECS Password

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Under Computing, click Elastic Cloud Server.
  3. Locate the row containing the target ECS, click More in the Operation column, and select Reset Password from the drop-down list.
  4. Set and confirm a new password as prompted.
  5. Click OK.

    It takes about 10 minutes to reset the password. Do not repeatedly perform this operation during a reset.

Logging In to the ECS Using VNC Through the Management Console

  1. In the Operation column of the target ECS, click Remote Login.
  2. Log in to the ECS as prompted.
    • Windows: When the system displays "Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to log on", click Send CtrlAltDel in the upper part of the remote login page to log in to the ECS.

    • Linux: Enter the username and password as prompted.

  3. Enter the password for logging in to the ECS.
    To log in to a Linux ECS, enter the username and then password.

    Username for logging in to an ECS:

    • For Windows: Administrator
    • For Linux: root
