Using Website Monitoring

Scenarios

Website monitoring is used to simulate real users' access to remote servers to detect the availability and connectivity of remote servers.

Website monitoring can detect the availabilities of domain names and IP addresses, access response time, and packet loss rate, and generate alarms for monitoring results.

Creating Monitors

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Under Management & Deployment, select Cloud Eye.
  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Website Monitoring.
  4. On the Website Monitoring page, click Create Monitor in the upper right corner.

    Configure the following parameters.

    Monitor Name: Set it to siteMonitor-uwlv.

    Monitor Type: Select HTTP(S).

    URL: Set it to www.example.com.

    Monitoring Frequency: Select 1 minute.

    Checkpoint Location: Select North China (Langfang), East China (Shanghai), and South China (Guangzhou).

    Request Method: Select POST.

    Advanced Configurations: Select Configure now.

    Post Message Content: Set it to params=83XC2pYQhIzokXXXXXsL2W0vdT9YLvIBQ2c9R6Hu%2fJJX86m3GbhxC2ix92BPFVjcJRRCu.

    HTTP Request Header: Set it to Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded.

    Request Cookies: Set it to Hm_lvt_e7a90fbbxxxxx0aec64d1170a5ca608f=1534402786.

    • If the submitted content is in the key=value format, the value of HTTP Request Header must be Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded.
    • Enter the post message content, HTTP request header, and request cookie based on the site requirements.

Viewing Website Monitoring

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Under Management & Deployment, select Cloud Eye.
  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Website Monitoring.

    On the displayed Website Monitoring page, information of all websites is displayed, including name, monitoring frequency, status, and response time.

  4. Locate the row containing the target monitor, and click View Graph in the Operation column.

    View the monitor monitoring details on the displayed graph.
