Billing

CloudTable supports two billing modes, the pay-per-use and yearly/monthly discount package (more economical). The total price of a CloudTable cluster will be automatically calculated so that you can purchase a cluster with just a few clicks.

Billing Items

CloudTable is billed based on the selected computing unit. For details about the price of CloudTable, see Product Pricing Details. You can use the price calculator provided by CloudTable to select the required computing unit specifications and quickly calculate the reference price of the CloudTable cluster to be purchased.

Billing Modes

CloudTable provides two billing modes: pay-per-use (hourly) and yearly/monthly discount package.

  • Yearly/Monthly: You can make a one-off payment according to the purchase duration of the selected computing unit. The minimum duration is 1 month and the maximum duration is 1 year.
  • Pay-per-use: You are charged by the duration you use computing units. The charging basis is one hour.

Changing Billing Mode

When purchasing a CloudTable cluster, you can select proper cluster specifications or computing unit quantity based on service requirements. CloudTable provides the following methods for you to change cluster configurations after a cluster is created.

  • Expanding capacity

After a cluster is created, you can scale out the cluster to increase the number of computing units. For details, see Expanding Cluster Capacity.

  • Enabling OpenTSDB

If you do not select OpenTSDB when creating a CloudTable cluster, you can enable OpenTSDB after the cluster is created. For details, see Enabling OpenTSDB. To enable OpenTSDB, you need to add at least two computing units. You can also increase the number of computing units required by OpenTSDB base on site requirements. OpenTSDB cannot be disabled after being enabled.

If the configuration change method cannot meet your requirements, you can create a new CloudTable cluster.

Renewal

CloudTable provides two billing modes, pay-per-use and yearly/monthly. In pay-per-use mode, fees are deducted every hour and insufficient balance can lead to overdue payments. In yearly/monthly mode, clusters need to be renewed before they expire. If your subscription is not renewed, your services will keep running, but enter into a retention period, during which CloudTable clusters will stop running but data is retained.

The retention period depends on the customer tier. For details, see Retention Period.

To renew the subscription, go to the Renewals page.

Overdue Payment

  • Overdue payment does not apply to yearly or monthly subscribed clusters.
  • In pay-per-use mode, cluster fees are deducted every hour. If your account balance is insufficient to pay for the expense occurred in the last hour, your account will be in arrears, and CloudTable clusters have a retention period. If the clusters are renewed within the retention period, they will be available and charged from the original expiration date.

Expiration

  • Expiration does not apply to pay-per-use clusters.
  • If the clusters you pay yearly or monthly expire, the clusters will enter into a retention period. During the retention period, you cannot perform operations on the cluster on the CloudTable management console, related APIs cannot be called, and O&M operations such as automatic monitoring and alarm reporting will be stopped. If your subscription is not renewed at the end of the retention period, services in the cluster will be terminated and data in the system will be deleted permanently.
