How Do I Select the Service Area If the Server Is Outside the Chinese Mainland but My Web Visitors Are in the Chinese Mainland?

You are advised to select Chinese mainland as the Service Area.

Because:

  • If users in the Chinese mainland access your domain name, users are redirected to nearby CDN points of presence (PoPs). They will experience notable acceleration.
  • If users outside the Chinese mainland access your domain name, they are also redirected to CDN PoPs in the Chinese mainland because your service area is Chinese mainland. The acceleration will not be as noticeable as it is for access from within the Chinese mainland. In the worst-case scenario, your domain name may become inaccessible.
