One-Click Monitoring

One-click monitoring enables you to quickly and easily enable or disable monitoring for cloud service resources. This topic describes how to use the one-click monitoring function to monitor key metrics.

Table 1 describes differences between one-click monitoring and common monitoring.

Event Monitoring

Cloud Eye triggers alarms based on the preset alarm policies. For example, Cloud Eye triggers an alarm if the average CPU usage is 80% or more for five consecutive times within 5 minutes.

Advantages: Alarm policies are flexible and can be configured based on service requirements.

Accumulative trigger

When an event occurs, Cloud Eye triggers alarms based on the alarm policy.

Advantages: The configuration is flexible. Only event alarms are supported.

Constraints

Once the alarm conditions specified in one-click monitoring are reached, Cloud Eye will trigger alarms immediately.

Enabling One-Click Monitoring

  1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
  1. In the navigation pane, choose Alarm Management > One-Click Monitoring.
  2. Locate the cloud service you want to enable one-click monitoring and toggle on the button in the One-Click Monitoring column.
  3. On the Enable Alarm Rule page, check that one-click monitoring is enabled for all alarm rules by default. Locate the alarm rule for which one-click monitoring is unnecessary and toggle off the button in the One-Click Monitoring column.
  4. Set alarm notification parameters. For details, see Table 3.
  5. Click OK. One-click monitoring is enabled. The alarm rule is added to the list.

Modifying an Alarm Rule

You can modify the alarm rules for one resource with one-click alarm monitoring enabled. You can delete or add alarm policies and set notifications as needed.

  1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
  1. In the navigation pane, choose Alarm Management > One-Click Monitoring.
  2. Click the drop-down button next to a resource type to view its alarm rules.
  3. Locate the alarm rule to be modified and click Modify in the Operation column.
  4. On the Modify Alarm Rule page, configure the alarm policy of the alarm rule.

    For details about metrics supported by each cloud service, see Cloud Product Metrics. For details about supported events, see Events Supported by Event Monitoring. For details about alarm policy parameters, see Alarm Policies.

  5. Modify alarm notification parameters. For details, see Table 2.
  6. Click OK.

Batch Modifying Alarm Notifications

You can modify alarm notifications in batches for alarm rules with one-click monitoring enabled. The changes apply to alarm rules of the selected resource type with one-click monitoring enabled.

  1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
  1. In the navigation pane, choose Alarm Management > One-Click Monitoring.
  2. Locate the target cloud service and click Batch Modify Alarm Notifications in the Operation column.
  3. In the displayed dialog box, set parameters.

    Whether to send alarm notifications by SMS, emailFunctionGraph (function), FunctionGraph (Workflow), WeCom, DingTalk, Lark, WeLink or HTTP or HTTPS. This parameter is enabled by default.

    Notification method. You can select Notification groups, or Topic subscriptions.

    • Notification groups: You need to create notification recipients and add them to a notification group.
    • Topic subscriptions: You can select a cloud account contact or a custom topic created in SMN.
    NOTE:

    Cloud Eye uses SMN for alarm notifications. If SMN has major delays, the alarm notifications may also be delayed.

    If Notified By is set to Notification groups, you need to select the notification group to which alarm notifications will be sent. For details about how to create a notification group, see Creating a Recipient and Notification Group.

    Recipient

    Target recipient of alarm notifications. You can select the account contact or a topic name. This parameter is available only if Notified By is set to Topic subscriptions. If there is a display name of a topic, the format is Topic name (display name), and you can search for a topic by name or display name. If no display name is set for a topic, only the topic name will be displayed.

    • Account contact: Enter the phone number and email address of the registered account.
    • A topic is used to publish messages and subscribe to notifications. If there is no topic you need, create one first and add subscriptions to it. For details, see Creating a Topic and Adding Subscriptions.

    Notification Window

    This parameter is only available if you select Notification group or Topic subscription for Notification Recipient.

    Time window during which Cloud Eye sends notifications.

    For example, if the notification window is set to 08:00:00 to 20:00:00, notifications are sent only within this specified time range when a metric reaches the specified threshold or a specified event occurs.

    Time Zone

    Time zone for the alarm notification window. By default, it matches the time zone of the client server, but can be manually configured.

    This parameter is only available if you set Notified By to Notification groups or Topic subscriptions.

    • If Alarm Type is set to Metric, you can select Generated alarm, Cleared alarm, or both.
    • When the alarm type is set to Event, you can only select Generated alarm for Trigger Condition.

  4. Click OK.

Resetting One-Click Monitoring Rules

  1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
  1. In the navigation pane, choose Alarm Management > One-Click Monitoring.
  2. Locate a resource type and click Reset in the Operation column.
  3. In the displayed dialog box, click OK to restore the one-click monitoring settings for alarm rules of the resource type.

    If one-click monitoring is disabled, resetting one-click monitoring will restore the changed alarm policy and clear the configured notification method. If one-click monitoring is enabled, resetting it only restores the changed alarm policy but keeps the notification settings.

Disabling One-Click Monitoring

  1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
  1. In the navigation pane, choose Alarm Management > One-Click Monitoring.
  2. Locate the target cloud service and toggle off the button in the One-Click Monitoring column.
  3. In the Disable Alarm Rule dialog box, view the alarm rules of the cloud service and click OK.
