Sharing Your Resources
Can I Configure Custom Permissions When Creating a Share?
Custom permissions are not supported.
When creating a share, you can only select the system-defined permissions preset by RAM for different resource types. For details about these permissions, see Viewing the RAM Permissions Library.
What Should I Do If the Recipient Does not Receive the Sharing Invitation?
First, verify that the recipient's account ID is correct. If you are sharing within an organization, ensure that the organization resource sharing function is enabled. If the recipient is an external account outside the organization, verify that their account status is normal.
Why Do New Resources or Permissions Not Take Effect Immediately After an Update?
Configuration updates rely on asynchronous synchronization, which may cause a short delay. We recommend waiting 1 to 3 minutes before trying again. If the update does not take effect after an extended period, you can edit and resubmit the share configuration to force an update.
How Can I Restore Users Who Were Removed After Changing the Sharing Scope?
When you change the sharing scope from any Huawei Cloud account to only within the organization, all accounts outside the organization are automatically removed. To restore access, you must add those members back into the organization and then specify them as the resource users.
What Should I Do If the Message "You do not have the permission to perform this operation on this share" Is Displayed When I Edit a Share?
The current login account is not the creator or owner of the share, or the RAM user belongs to an account that has not been granted share management permissions. You must switch to the account that created the share or grant share management permissions to the current RAM user.
What Are the Common Causes of a Failure to Save the Share Configuration When the Message "Failed to verify the configuration information" Is Displayed?
Common causes include an incorrect user account ID format, an incorrect resource URN format, a mismatch between permissions and the resource, or special characters in the share name. Check the format of each configuration item and submit the configuration again.
What Should I Do If I Cannot Find the Created Share in the Resource Shares List?
Ensure that your search criteria (share name, ID, status, and tags) are correct and do not contain extra spaces or special characters. Additionally, check whether the login account created the share. If the login account is not the creator, it lacks permission to view the share.
Will the Service Be Affected If a Deleted Share Is Still Displayed in the Resource Shares List?
There is no adverse impact on the system.
A deleted share is retained for 48 hours and its status is displayed as "Deleted". During this period, you can only view the share. The system automatically deletes the share after 48 hours.
Will the Original Shared Resources Be Deleted Together with the Share?
No.
Deleting a share only revokes resource access permissions and does not delete the original resources. The resources still belong to the original account and can be used independently.
