Services
ASM manages and monitors traffic of Deployments running in Kubernetes clusters. After adding services to a service mesh, you can configure grayscale releases, rate limiting, circuit breaking, and sticky sessions for these services. One-stop graphical monitoring is available for traffic health, performance, and tracing. This section describes how to add a service to and delete a service from a service mesh.
Constraints
- A cluster with Istio enabled is available.
- A namespace is available.
Adding Services
After you create a namespace in the service mesh, the cluster add-on on the data plane automatically synchronizes services in the namespace to the service mesh.
Deleting a Service

Deleted services cannot be recovered.
To delete a service, take the following steps:
- Log in to the UCS console. In the navigation pane, choose Service Meshes.
- Click the service mesh name to go to the details page.
- In the navigation pane, choose Service Center > Mesh Services.
- Locate the service to be deleted and click Delete in the Operation column.
- In the dialog box displayed, click Yes.
