ELB Monitoring Metrics
Overview
This section describes the namespace, the metrics that can be monitored by Cloud Eye, and dimensions of these metrics. You can view the metrics reported by ELB and the generated alarms on the Cloud Eye console.
Cloud Eye can monitor dimensions nested to a maximum of four levels (levels 0 to 3). Level 3 is the deepest level. For example, if the monitored dimension of a metric is lbaas_instance_id,lbaas_listener_id, lbaas_instance_id indicates level 0 and lbaas_listener_id indicates level 1.

Load Balancer Metrics
For dedicated load balancers, you can view the monitoring metrics by load balancer, listener, backend server group, or AZ. You can view only the Layer 7 metrics of a backend server group.
- Metrics related to Layer 7 services support only HTTP, HTTPS, QUIC, and gRPC.
- Number of Layer 7 response status codes = Number of Layer 7 backend response status codes + Number of load balancer response status codes
- Layer 7 response status codes are those received by the client.
- Layer 7 backend response status codes are those returned by backend servers.
- Load balancer response status codes are those returned when the action of the forwarding policy configured for the load balancer is set to Return a specific response body, Redirect to another URL, or Redirect to another listener, or when no backend server is available for the load balancer.
