Reducing Vault Capacity

During digital operations, data workloads often fluctuate rapidly. Over-provisioning vault capacity can result in unnecessary costs due to inefficient use of storage resources. You can reduce the vault capacity if required.

Only pay-per-use vaults can have their capacity reduced.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the CBR console.

    1. Log in to the management console.
    2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
    3. Click and choose Storage > Cloud Backup and Recovery. Select the corresponding backup type from the navigation pane.

  2. Locate the target vault and choose More > Reduce Capacity in the Operation column. See Figure 1.

  3. Enter the new capacity. Ensure that the new capacity is greater than 125% of the used capacity. Or, the capacity reduction will fail.
  4. Click Next. Confirm the settings and click Submit.
  5. Return to the vault list and check that the capacity of the vault has been reduced.
