Changing the AS Configuration for an AS Group

If you need to change the specifications of ECS instances in an AS group, changing the AS configuration used by the AS group is an easy way to help you get there.

Billing

AS is available for free, but you pay for the instances automatically added to the AS group and the resources used by the instances, such as EIPs, disks, and images. For details, see Billing Items.

Procedure

1. Log in to the AS console.
2. Change an AS configuration.
   You can use either of the following methods to change the AS configuration:

   • Locate the row containing the target AS group and choose More > Change AS Configuration in the Operation column.

     

   • Click the target AS group name. On the displayed Overview tab, click Change Configuration in the AS Configuration area.

     

3. In the displayed dialog box, select another AS configuration for the AS group and click OK.

   

4. Verify that the AS configuration has been changed.

   On the AS group list page, check whether the AS configuration of the target AS group is the new AS configuration. If yes, the change is successful.

Effective Time of New AS Configuration

After you change the AS configuration for an AS group, the new AS configuration will not be used until any ongoing scaling actions are complete.

For example, if there is a scaling action ongoing for an AS group, and you change the AS configuration of the AS group from as-config-A to as-config-B, as-config-A is still used for the instances that are being added in the ongoing scaling action.

as-config-B will take effect in the next scaling action.
