Creating a Redis Role

Scenario

Create and configure a Redis role on FusionInsight Manager as an MRS cluster administrator. The Redis role can be used to set the read, write, and management permissions for you on a Redis cluster or a single Redis instance.

If Redis is in security mode, you can set the user permissions of the Redis role. However, the normal mode does not support the settings.

Prerequisites

• The MRS cluster administrator has understood service requirements.
• Log in to FusionInsight Manager.

Procedure

1. Choose System > Permission > Role.
2. On the displayed page, click Create Role and fill in Role Name and Description.
3. In the Configure Resource Permission list, select the cluster whose permissions are to be added and select service permissions for the role.
4. Set Configure Resource Permission. For details, see Table 1.

   Redis Access Manage: All Redis clusters or single Redis instance in a cluster can be assigned permissions. Resource types can be distinguished by Resource Type.

   • single instance: single Redis instance
   • cluster: Redis cluster
   

   You can select the Redis service only when the REDIS_SECURITY_ENABLED parameter is set to true during the Redis service installation.

   Setting the permission for users to read Redis resources	In the Configure Resource Permission table, choose Name of the desired cluster > Redis > Redis Access Manage. In the Permission column of the specified Redis resource, select read.
   Setting the permission for users to read and write Redis resources	In the Configure Resource Permission table, choose Name of the desired cluster > Redis > Redis Access Manage. In the Permission column of the specified Redis resource, select read and write.
   Setting users' management permissions on Redis resources (for example, running the FLUSHDB, BGSAVE, and CONFIG commands)	In the Configure Resource Permission table, choose Name of the desired cluster > Redis > Redis Access Manage. In the Permission column of the specified Redis resource, select management.

5. Click OK, and return to the Role page.
