Are ICAgent and UniAgent the Same?
ICAgent is a plug-in, but UniAgent is not.
- UniAgent: A base platform used to manage the lifecycle of collection plug-ins (such as ICAgent and Telescope) and maintain their status. UniAgent does not collect O&M data; instead, different collection plug-ins do that. You can go to the UniAgent management page of AOM and install ICAgent for a host where UniAgent has been installed. The ICAgent can then collect metrics or logs. Alternatively, go to the access center and install a middleware plug-in for a host where UniAgent has been installed and create a collection task to collect middleware metrics. For details about how to install UniAgents, see Installing UniAgents.
- ICAgent collects node and container metrics and logs for AOM and LTS. For details about how to install ICAgents, see Managing ICAgent Plug-ins for Hosts.
