Description

  • EIP

    An Elastic IP (EIP) bound to an ECS allows public network access. EIP bandwidth can be modified at any time. An ECS without an EIP bound cannot access public networks or be accessed by public networks.

    EIPs are regional resources. Each EIP can be used by only one ECS at a time, and they must be in the same region.

    In the service list, choose Networking > Elastic IP to check the EIP details.

FAQs

Can I Bind an EIP to or Unbind an EIP from an ECS?

Yes, you can flexibly bind or unbind an EIP. On the ECS list page, choose More > Manage Network > Unbind EIP or Bind EIP in the Operation column.

An EIP is still billed after it is unbound. Release it if you do not need it anymore.

Can I Change the EIP of an ECS?

Yes, but you cannot directly change it. You need to unbind the original EIP and then bind a new one to the ECS.

On the ECS list page, choose More > Manage Network > Unbind EIP or Bind EIP in the Operation column.

Can I Bind Multiple EIPs to an ECS?

You can bind multiple EIPs to an ECS, but you are not recommended to do so.

If an ECS has multiple NICs attached and you want to bind multiple EIPs to this ECS, you need to configure policy-based routes for these NICs so that they can communicate with public networks.
