DigiCert uses lawyer's letters under the following circumstances:

DigiCert regards lawyers' letters as the final fallback verification method when no other third-party registration information is available. The review team evaluates whether the organization accepts the lawyers' letter as a verification method. If necessary, the review team may contact the lawyer to further understand the verification method. If the DigiCert has doubts about the information in the lawyers' letter, the review team may ask the lawyer to provide the verification evidence of the specific information in the lawyers' letter for evaluation. Then, the review team determines whether the lawyers' letter meets the DigiCert requirements. If the DigiCert considers that the risk is too high, it may refuse to use the lawyers' letter.
