Using FTP to Transfer Files from a Local Windows Computer to a Windows or Linux Cloud Server
Scenarios
This section describes how to use FTP to upload files from a local Windows computer to a FlexusX instance.
Prerequisites
- An EIP has been bound to the cloud server, and TCP port 21 has been enabled in the inbound direction of the security group associated with the cloud server. For configuration details, see Configuring Security Group Rules for a FlexusX Instance.
- FTP has been set up on the target cloud server (FlexusX instance).
- If the target cloud server runs Windows, see Setting Up an FTP Site (Windows).
- If the target cloud server runs Linux, see Setting Up an FTP Site (Linux).
Procedure
- Download FileZilla and install it on the local Windows computer.
- On the local Windows computer, open FileZilla, enter the information about the target ECS, and click Quickconnect.
- Host: EIP bound to an ECS
- Username: username set when the FTP site was set up
- Password: password of the username
- Port: FTP access port, which is port 21 by default

- Drag files from the local computer on the left to the target ECS on the right to transfer them.
