Creating a Virtual Gateway Attachment

You can create a Direct Connect virtual gateway attachment for an enterprise router.

After this attachment is created, you can use Direct Connect and Enterprise Router to set up a hybrid cloud network.

Create the virtual gateway on the Direct Connect console and then attach the virtual gateway to the enterprise router. For details, see Configuring a Virtual Gateway Attachment in Enterprise Router.

From May 2024, enterprise routers and Direct Connect virtual gateways cannot be used together to set up a hybrid cloud network. Existing networks that are set up using enterprise routers and Direct Connect virtual gateways are not affected.

If you need to connect VPCs to an on-premises data center to set up a hybrid cloud network, it is recommended that you use Enterprise Router and Direct Connect Global DC Gateway. For details, see Creating a Global DC Gateway Attachment.
