Modifying a Resource Group
When you need to add resources to or delete resources from a resource group, modify the resource group. For details about how to change the enterprise projects with which a resource group is associated, see Removing Resources from an Enterprise Project and Adding Resources to an Enterprise Project.
Constraints
After a resource group is modified, it takes about three hours for the new resource matching rule to be applied. During this time, resources are still matched based on the old rule.
Modifying a Resource Group
- The new page of creating a resource group is now available in some regions. This feature will expand to other regions soon. For details, check the console.
- Only the new page allows you to modify the alarm notification settings and custom alarm template associated with a resource group on its details page.
- Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
- In the navigation pane, choose Resource Groups.
- Click the name of the resource group to be modified to go to its details page.
- In the Basic Information area, modify the resource group name, alarm notification settings, and associated custom metric alarm templates.
- To rename the resource group, click
next to Name in the Basic Information area, enter a new name, and click
. - To modify the alarm notification settings, click
next to Alarm Notifications. On the Associate Notifications page, configure the alarm notifications and determine whether the alarm rules will inherit the notification type from the resource group. For details about alarm notification parameters, see (New Edition) Alarm Notification Parameters.
- If Inherit Notification Settings from the Resource Group is set to Yes, the notification settings of all associated alarm rules will be updated.
- If it is set to No, the notification settings of all associated alarm rules will remain unchanged.
- To modify the alarm templates, click
next to Alarm Templates. On the Associate Custom Metric Alarm Template page, select or deselect alarm templates, and determine whether the alarm rules will inherit the notification type from the resource group.
- If Inherit Notification Settings from the Resource Group is set to Yes, all alarm rules created through the association will inherit the notification type from the resource group. If a resource group has no notification type configured, the alarm rules will not have one either.
- If it is set to No, all alarm rules created through the association will not inherit the notification type from the resource group. Alarm Notifications in new alarm rules will be disabled, and the associated alarm rules will use existing alarm notification settings.
- To rename the resource group, click
- Click Modify Resource Matching Rule.
If Add Resources is set to Manually, you can reselect resources on the Modify Resource Matching Rule page or remove selected resources on the resource details page.
