Managing Policy Templates

In multi-account management scenarios, when each account independently defines backup or replication policies, it leads to redundant efforts and potential data security risks due to inconsistent policy configurations. If an account has defined backup and replication policies for its services, the administrator can export the policies from the account and import them into other accounts for use. This improves service configuration efficiency.

Notes and Constraints

  • Templates can be used for backup and replication policies, including organizational policies.
  • If the number of policies to be imported exceeds the upper limit, the import will fail.

Exporting a Policy Template

  1. Log in to the CBR console. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Policies or Organization Policies.
  3. Select the policies to be exported and click Export. If no policy is selected, all policies will be exported.

  4. The system generates a JSON file. Select the path for saving the file and click Save.

Go to the corresponding path and check whether the JSON file exists. If the JSON file exists, the export was successful.
