Starting or Stopping an Instance
Scenarios
After an instance is created, you can stop it if it is not used for a short period of time. After the instance is stopped, you cannot log in to the bastion host system. If you need to use the instance later, you can start it then.
Notes and Constraints
- Only instances in the Stopped state can be started.
- Only instances in the Running state can be stopped.
Starting an Instance
- Log in to the CBH console.
- Click
in the upper left corner on the displayed page and select a region. - Locate the row containing the instance you want to start. In the Operation column, click Start.
- In the displayed dialog box, click OK.
After the instance is started, its Status changes to Running.
Stopping an Instance
Precautions
- Before stopping a bastion host instance, make sure no operations or O&M tasks are in progress. Once the bastion host instance is stopped, ongoing operations and O&M tasks will be forcibly logged out immediately.
- Stopping an instance does not affect its billing.
Procedure
- Log in to the CBH console.
- Click
in the upper left corner on the displayed page and select a region. - Locate the row containing the instance you want to stop. In the Operation column, choose More > Stop.
- In the displayed dialog box, confirm the information and click OK.
After the CBH instance is stopped, its Status changes to Stopped.
A bastion host instance is still billed after it is stopped. So if you no longer need a bastion host instance, you need to delete it to stop the billing.
