Scenarios

You can configure system alarm notifications in your bastion host system. When an alarm is triggered, the system sends a notification in the way you configure. You can use the message center, email, SMN, or SMS to receive notifications. This helps you stay informed about the system runtime status in a timely manner, quickly identify security issues, and improve operation efficiency.

System alarms include system messages, service messages, task messages, command alarms, and service ticket messages. For each alarm type, you can configure the notification method, alarm severity, and recipients.

• For messages of low severity, no alarms are sent by default.
• For messages of medium severity, alarms are sent through the message center.
• For messages of high severity, alarms are sent through the message center and emails.

Prerequisites

The role you belong to has the management permission for the System module. For details about how to check the permissions of each role, see Role.

Configuring Alarm Notification Methods

You can determine whether to send alarms for messages based on their alarm severity. If alarms are required, you can configure the alarm notification method. Currently, you can use the message center, email, SMN, or SMS to send alarm notifications.

1. Log in to your bastion host system.
2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose System > System Config > Alarm.
3. In the Alarm Channel area, click Edit on the right.

4. Configure an alarm channel for each message type based on your service needs.

   Parameter	Description
   Type	Alarm message type, which can be System Message, Business Message, Task Message, Command Alarm, or Ticket Message.
   Level	Alarm severity, including Low, Medium, and High.
   Alarm	Whether to send alarms. The value can be Yes or No.
   Channel	The channel used to send notifications. You can select multiple channels. Message center: After an alarm is generated, a notification is generated in the message center () of your bastion host console for the specified recipients. Email: After an alarm is generated, a notification is sent to the specified recipients by email. To send email notifications, ensure that you have enabled email outgoing. SMS: After an alarm is generated, a notification is sent to the specified recipients by SMS. To send SMS notifications, ensure that you have enabled SMS outgoing and SMS Gateway under Third-party is selected for SMS Conf. SMN: After an alarm is generated, a notification is sent to the specified recipients in a way you configured in SMN. To send SMN notifications, ensure that you have enabled SMN outgoing. 5. Click OK. You can then view alarm configuration on the Alarm tab.

Configuring the Alarm Level

You can specify the alarm level for each type of event. The alarm level can be Low, Medium, or High.

1. Log in to your bastion host system.
2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose System > System Config > Alarm.
3. In the Alarm Level area, click Edit on the right.

4. On each function module tab, set the alarm level for each type of event.

   Parameter	Description
   Event	Event for which the alarm level needs to be set.
   Type	Event message type, which can be System Message, Business Message, Task Message, Command Alarm, or Ticket Message.
   Level	Alarm level of the current event. The options are Low, Medium, and High.

5. Click OK. You can then view alarm configuration on the Alarm tab.

Configuring the Alarm Sending Scope

You can configure which departments and roles can receive alarm notifications, as well as whether to notify the system administrator admin.

1. Log in to your bastion host system.
2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose System > System Config > Alarm.
3. In the Alarm Sending area, click Edit on the right.

4. Set the departments to which alarms are sent and whether to notify the system administrator admin, and click Next.

   Parameter	Description
   Alarm notification range	Set the departments that can receive alarm notifications. This Department: Alarm notifications will be sent to the department of the user who triggers the alarm. The department and all superior departments: Alarm notifications will be sent to the department of the user who triggers the alarm and all its upper-level departments.
   Whether to send to system administrator	Configure whether to send alarm notifications to system administrator admin based on your requirements.

5. Specify the user roles that will receive alarm notifications.
   • Select a role: Select a role in the Selectable role pane and click to move it to the Selected roles pane.
   • Remove a role: Select a role in the Selected role pane and click to move it to the Selectable role pane.

6. Click OK. You can then view alarm sending configuration on the Alarm tab.

Configuring an Alarm Threshold

1. Log in to your bastion host system.
2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose System > System Config > Alarm.
3. In the Alarm Threshold Config area, click Edit.

4. Configure an alarm threshold.

   Parameter	Description
   Disk Read Rate	An alarm is generated when the disk read rate exceeds the configured value. The default value is 0. If the value is 0, the value calculated by the system is used as the threshold. Unit: MBytes/s Click Restore Default. The system obtains the current disk read rate.
   Disk Write Rate	An alarm is generated when the disk write rate exceeds the configured value. The default value is 0. If the value is 0, the value calculated by the system is used as the threshold. Unit: MBytes/s Click Restore Default. The system obtains the current disk write rate.

5. Click OK.

   Return to the alarm configuration page and view the configured alarm threshold.

   If (default) is displayed for a threshold in the Alarm Threshold Config area, the threshold is the default value for the system.
