Failed to Change a Database Name

Scenario

Database names cannot be changed for RDS for MySQL DB instances on the DAS console.

Possible Causes

Changing database names is not supported on the DAS console. If you change a database name or rename a database using SQL statements, data may be lost.

Solution

Use Data Replication Service (DRS) to migrate data from the source database to the destination database with a different name. For details, see Migration Solution Overview.
