Synchronizing Incremental Data

Constraints

• You can synchronize the incremental data from a source server only when the migration status is Finished.
• During a Linux file-level migration, if the source server has a large number of files in a single partition and has limited CPU and memory resources (for example, 1 vCPU and 1 GB memory), rsync may fail to perform incremental synchronization due to insufficient resources. In this case, you are advised to perform only the initial full migration and avoid performing incremental synchronization.
• After the full migration of a Linux server, some parameter settings in the directories below on the target server are modified to make the target server compatible with Huawei Cloud and ensure that the target server can start properly. During incremental synchronization, data in these directories is not synchronized by default to prevent parameter settings in these directories on the target server from being overwritten or modified.

Synchronizing Incremental Data

1. Sign in to the SMS console.
2. In the navigation pane, click Servers.
3. In the server list, locate the source server you want to synchronize, and click Sync above the list, or choose More > Sync in the Operation column.
4. In the Synchronize Incremental Datadialog box, carefully read the tips, enable Verify Data Consistency if needed, and click OK. For details about this option, see How Do I Verify Data Consistency Between the Source and Target Servers?

   

5. Then click OK. Wait until the task status changes to Completed, which indicates that the incremental data has been synchronized.

   If data synchronization is no longer required, you can delete the cutover snapshots and synchronization snapshots generated during the migration. For details, see Deleting Resources.
