How Is a One-In Multiple-Out Transcoding Template Billed?
Pricing is calculated based on the total duration of the output files. If you use a one-in-multiple-out transcoding template, you are billed for each individual output generated.
The unit price for each output depends on the codec, resolution, and whether low-bitrate HD is enabled. For details, see MPC Pricing Details.
The following examples illustrate how MPC charges for transcoded outputs.
These examples are based on pay-per-use pricing. If you have purchased a transcoding package, the total transcoding duration will be calculated and deducted from the package balance based on the corresponding rules.
Example 1
- Transcoding template: DASH_H.264_FHD_1 input and 6 outputs with Low Bitrate HD disabled
- Input video: duration: 30 minutes; resolution: 2100 x 1200.
- Output videos: Their resolutions and bitrates are 1,920 x 1,080/6,000 kbit/s, 1,920 x 1,080/3,000 kbit/s, 1,280 x 720/2,000 kbit/s, 1,280 x 720/1,000 kbit/s, 854 x 480/600 kbit/s, and 480 x 270/300 kbit/s.
- Fee calculation: For H.264 standard transcoding, SD is used as the base unit. Durations for 4K, 2K, FHD, HD, and SD are converted at a ratio of 5.31:3.98:2.65:1.32:1. For example, 1 minute of FHD transcoding is equivalent to 2.65 minutes of SD transcoding.
The output videos generated from the one-in-multiple-out template are billed based on their individual specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 1,920 x 1,080/6,000 kbit/s and 1,920 x 1,080/3,000 kbit/s are billed based on the H.264-FHD (1920 x 1080) or lower specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 1,280 x 720/2,000 kbit/s and 1,280 x 720/1,000 kbit/s are billed based on the H.264-HD (1280 x 720) or lower specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 854 x 480/600 kbit/s and 480 x 270/300 kbit/s are billed based on the H.264-SD (640 x 480) or lower specifications.
Transcoding fee = Converted output duration x SD transcoding unit price. That is, (30 x 2 x 2.65 + 30 x 2 x 1.32 + 30 x 2) x 0.0094 = $2.8031 USD.
Example 2
- Transcoding template: DASH_H.265_FHD_1 input and 6 outputs with Low Bitrate HD enabled
- Input video: duration: 30 minutes; resolution: 2100 x 1200
- Output videos: Their resolutions and bitrates are 1,920 x 1,080/4,200 kbit/s, 1,920 x 1,080/2,100 kbit/s, 1,280 x 720/1,400 kbit/s, 1,280 x 720/700 kbit/s, 854 x 480/500 kbit/s, and 480 x 270/200 kbit/s.
- Fee calculation: For H.265 low-bitrate HD transcoding, SD is used as the base unit. Durations for 4K, 2K, FHD, HD, and SD are converted at a ratio of 5.33:3.99:2.66:1.33:1. For example, 1 minute of FHD transcoding is equivalent to 2.66 minutes of SD transcoding.
The output videos generated from the one-in-multiple-out template are billed based on their individual specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 1,920 x 1,080/4,200 kbit/s and 1,920 x 1,080/2,100 kbit/s are billed based on the H.265-Low Bitrate HD-FHD (1920 x 1080) or lower specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 1,280 x 720/1,400 kbit/s and 1,280 x 720/700 kbit/s are billed based on the H.265-Low Bitrate HD-HD (1280 x 720) or lower specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 854 x 480/500 kbit/s and 480 x 270/200 kbit/s are billed based on the H.265-Low Bitrate HD-SD (640 x 480) or lower specifications.
Transcoding fee = Converted output duration x SD transcoding unit price. That is, (30 x 2 x 2.66 + 30 x 2 x 1.33 + 30 x 2) x 0.1407 = $42.1256 USD.
Example 3
- Transcoding template: DASH_H.265_FHD_1 input and 6 outputs with Low Bitrate HD and image enhancement enabled
- Input video: duration: 30 minutes; resolution: 2100 x 1200
- Output videos: Their resolutions and bitrates are 1,920 x 1,080/4,200 kbit/s, 1,920 x 1,080/2,100 kbit/s, 1,280 x 720/1,400 kbit/s, 1,280 x 720/700 kbit/s, 854 x 480/500 kbit/s, and 480 x 270/200 kbit/s.
- Fee calculation: For H.265 low-bitrate HD transcoding, SD is used as the base unit. Durations for 4K, 2K, FHD, HD, and SD are converted at a ratio of 5.33:3.99:2.66:1.33:1. For example, 1 minute of FHD transcoding is equivalent to 2.66 minutes of SD transcoding.
The output videos generated from the one-in-multiple-out template are billed based on their individual specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 1,920 x 1,080/4,200 kbit/s and 1,920 x 1,080/2,100 kbit/s are billed based on the H.265-Low Bitrate HD-FHD (1920 x 1080) or lower specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 1,280 x 720/1,400 kbit/s and 1,280 x 720/700 kbit/s are billed based on the H.265-Low Bitrate HD-HD (1280 x 720) or lower specifications.
- The output videos whose resolutions/bitrates are 854 x 480/500 kbit/s and 480 x 270/200 kbit/s are billed based on the H.265-Low Bitrate HD-SD (640 x 480) or lower specifications.
As both Low Bitrate HD and image enhancement are enabled in this example, the total fee is twice that in example 2.
Transcoding fee = Converted output duration x SD transcoding unit price. That is, (30 x 2 x 2.66 + 30 x 2 x 1.33 + 30 x 2) x 2 x 0.1407 = $84.2512 USD.
