How Does MgC Generate Target Redis Recommendations?

The following table describes how the system recommends Redis versions and specifications during assessment.

Huawei Cloud

The lift-and-shift migration policy is followed, and the target instance specifications match the source instance specifications.

Other clouds

The target instance architecture is mapped to the source instance architecture. Single-node, master/standby, read/write splitting, Proxy Cluster, and Redis Cluster instances are matched with their respective equivalents. This ensures architecture consistency, uniform access modes, and service compatibility, preventing function, performance, and protocol compatibility issues caused by architecture differences after the migration.

  • If the rounded-down source version is less than or equal to 4, the target version is 4.0.
  • If the rounded-down source version is 5, the target version is 5.0.
  • If the rounded-down source version is greater than or equal to 6, the target version is 6.0.

Target specifications are matched 1:1 with source specifications. If an exact match is unavailable, the system recommends the next higher specifications that are closest to the source.

Any missing key fields may cause the Redis assessment process to fail. The following table describes the fields required for Redis assessment.
