Do I Need to Subscribe to Ubuntu Pro to Fix Ubuntu Vulnerabilities?

• For Ubuntu versions that have reached EOL, the official website does not provide free patches. For certain versions, you need to subscribe to Ubuntu Pro to obtain extended security maintenance (ESM).
• For maintained Ubuntu versions, some patches cannot be updated for free. You need to subscribe to Ubuntu Pro to install upgrade packages. If Ubuntu Pro is not configured, vulnerability fixing may fail.

Perform the following steps to check whether you need to subscribe to Ubuntu Pro to fix Ubuntu vulnerabilities:

1. Log in to the HSS console.
2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region or project.
3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Prediction > Vulnerabilities. The vulnerability management page is displayed.
4. In the upper left corner, click Server view.
5. Click the name of a server to go to the server details page.
6. Click the Linux Vulnerabilities tab and click the name of a vulnerability. The vulnerability details page is displayed.
7. Click the Affected Server Details tab to view the server vulnerability matching description.

   If the fixed version number in the matching description contains esmx, you need to subscribe to Ubuntu Pro to fix the vulnerability. x is a digit.

   For example, the fixed version is 8:6.9.11.60+dfsg-1.3ubuntu0.22.04.5+esm2.
