Can I Expand a Single Shard of a Cluster Instance (Scale-Up)?

Cluster DCS Redis 3.0 instances cannot be scaled up. To increase the shard size for cluster DCS Redis 4.0 and later instances, contact technical support.

For more information about scale-up impacts, see Impact of scaling.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the DCS console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner of the management console and select the region where your instance is located.
  3. In the navigation pane, choose Cache Manager.
  4. Choose More > Modify Specifications in the row containing the desired DCS instance.
  5. Set Sharding to Customize and select a Shard Size.

By default, if you are not on the whitelist for this feature, you can only select a value equal to or less than the current single shard size.
