Checking Source System Compatibility

This section describes how to check OSs of the source servers. To confirm their compatibility with SMS, see Linux OSs Supported for File-Level Migration.

The procedure is as follows.

1. On a source server, press Ctrl, Alt, and T to open the Terminal window.
2. Enter one of the following commands in the Terminal window, and press Enter:
   • Run the following command to check the OS release information, including the vendor, version number, and code:

     lsb_release -a

     

   • Run the following command to check the OS information, including the OS version, kernel version, server name, and system status:

     hostnamectl

     

   • Run the following command to check the brief OS version:

     cat /etc/issue
