Changing a DB Instance Description

Scenarios

After a DB instance is created, you can add a description.

Procedure

1. Log in to the management console.
2. Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Databases > Relational Database Service.
3. On the Instances page, locate the DB instance you wish to edit the description for and click in the Description column to make your modification. When you are finished, click OK.

   Alternatively, click the target DB instance to go to the Basic Information page. In the DB Information area, click next to the Description field to edit the DB instance description.

   

   The DB instance description can include up to 64 characters, and can include letters, digits, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.).

   • To submit the change, click .
   • To cancel the change, click .

4. View the results on the Basic Information page.
