Deleting an Automatic Snapshot Policy

In routine data management, automatic snapshot policies help you periodically back up important data to ensure data security. However, over time, unnecessary automatic snapshots can consume significant storage space and increase costs. It is recommended that you regularly delete automatic snapshots to prevent the accumulation of unwanted data. This section describes how to delete an automatic snapshot policy.

After an automatic snapshot policy is deleted, the system automatically removes it from the disks this policy previously applied to, and standard snapshots will not be automatically created for these disks.

Procedure

1. Sign in to the EVS console.

2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Elastic Volume Service > Snapshots to go to the Snapshots page.
3. Click the Automatic Snapshot Policies tab, locate the target policy in the policy list, and choose More > Delete in the Operation column.
4. In the displayed dialog box, confirm the information and click OK. After the policy is deleted, it disappears from the automatic snapshot policy list.
