PERF03-04 Selecting Appropriate Networking Services
- Risk level
Medium
- Key strategies
Select an appropriate type of network service based on network characteristics.
Scenario
Huawei Cloud Service
Selection Strategy
Cloud networking
(intra-cloud and inter-cloud)
VPC
Defines and starts Huawei resources in a logically isolated virtual network to facilitate internal network management and configuration.
Enterprise Router
Connects a VPC and a local network to a gateway, and supports route learning, dynamic route selection, and path changes, greatly improving network scalability and O&M efficiency and ensuring service continuity.
Enterprise Switch
Connects a VPC and a local network to a gateway (layer 2 connection) to help enterprises flexibly build large-scale, high-performance, and highly reliable cloud and on-premises networks.
NAT gateway
Allows multiple cloud servers to share a private IP address to access the local data center or other VPCs, and allows cloud servers to provide services for private networks.
Application networking
(between users and the cloud)
ELB
Distributes HTTP/HTTPS traffic to expand the external service capabilities of application systems and improve the fault tolerance of applications.
VPCEP
Connects a VPC to Huawei Cloud services without exposing data to the Internet. The network is more powerful and flexible.
Network access
(between users and PoP)
DNS
Provides highly available and scalable authoritative DNS services and DNS management services, routing end users to Internet applications in a reliable and cost-effective manner.
EIP
Provides independent public IP addresses to connect the public Internet and VPC virtual networks. EIP can be flexibly bound to or unbound from resources such as ECSs, BMSs, virtual IP addresses, load balancers, and NAT gateways.
Global Accelerator
Uses the Huawei Cloud global network to improve application availability, performance, and security, so that end users can quickly access cloud applications around the world and obtain high-quality experience.
Direct Connect
Provides a high-speed, low-latency, stable, and secure dedicated connection channel between the local data center and Huawei Cloud VPC, implementing flexible, integrated, and scalable hybrid cloud computing environments.
VPN
Securely connects to Huawei Cloud or on-premises resources and seamlessly extends existing data centers to Huawei Cloud.
Hybrid networking
Cloud Connect
Provides the capabilities of building, managing, and monitoring global WANs, helping users build a global cloud network with enterprise-scale and communications capabilities.
