Error Message "Could not establish connection to xxx" Is Displayed During a Remote Connection

Symptom

Possible Causes

Establishing a remote SSH connection to an instance through VS Code failed.

Solution

Close the displayed dialog box, view the error information in OUTPUT, and rectify the fault by referring to the troubleshooting methods provided in the subsequent sections.
