How Do I Change the RDS Transaction Isolation Level?

You can change the transaction isolation level by setting the tx_isolation parameter on the RDS console.

1. Log in to the management console.
2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and a project.
3. Click Service List. Under Database, click Relational Database Service. The RDS console is displayed.
4. On the Instances page, click the target DB instance.
5. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Parameters. On the Parameters tab page, locate tx_isolation and select the desired isolation level from the drop-down list in the Value column. The following values are available for you to choose from:
   • READ-UNCOMMITTED
   • READ-COMMITTED
   • REPEATABLE-READ
   • SERIALIZABLE

6. Click Save. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.
