Can I Connect a Direct Connect Connection to an Enterprise Router Across Regions?

If a Direct Connect connection and an enterprise router are located in different regions, the Direct Connect connection cannot be directly connected to the enterprise router. Instead, you need to use a central network to connect the enterprise router and the Direct Connect connection across regions.

Figure 1 illustrates how to connect the on-premises data centers in region A and region B to the cloud network. You need to create an enterprise router in each region, attach the VPCs and Direct Connect gateway in the same region to the enterprise router to enable communication between the cloud network and the on-premises network in the same region, and then use a central network to connect the enterprise routers in different regions to enable communication between the cloud network and the on-premises network across regions. For details, see Connecting Multiple On-Premises Networks Across Regions Through Enterprise Routers.
