Region

A region is the location of the physical data center. Regions are defined by their geographical location and network latency. For lower network latency and faster resource access, select the region nearest to your target users.

How Do I Select a Region?

When selecting a region, note the following:

  • Geographical location

    For lower latency and faster access, select a region nearest to your target users.

    If your target user is in Asia Pacific (outside the Chinese mainland), you can select the CN Hong-Kong, AP-Bangkok, or AP-Singapore region.

    Huawei Cloud provides services in many regions around the world. You can select a region and an AZ based on requirements. For more information, see Huawei Cloud Global Products and Services.

  • Resource price

    Resource prices may vary by region. For details, see Product Pricing Details.

Can ECSs in Different Regions Communicate with Each Other over a Private Network?

No. You can assign EIPs to the ECSs to enable them to communicate with each other over the Internet.

Can I Change the Region of an ECS?

No, you can only use an ECS in the region where it was purchased.

To migrate an ECS to another region, create a private image using the ECS, replicate the image to the target region, and use the image to clone the identical ECSs.

Can I Migrate an ECS to Another Account?

No, you cannot migrate an ECS to another account.

To migrate an ECS to another account, create a private image using the ECS and share the private image with the target account. After accepting the shared image, the account user can use this image to create the same ECSs.
