Updates to Nginx Ingress Maintenance Policy on Huawei Cloud CCE
Released: Dec 10, 2025
The Kubernetes contributor community recently released a blog post Ingress NGINX Retirement: What You Need to Know, in which SIG Network and the Security Response Committee jointly announced the upcoming retirement of Ingress NGINX. CCE has changed the maintenance policy of the NGINX Ingress Controller add-on as follows:
- Maintenance policy: From now until November 30, 2026, CCE will continue to provide necessary maintenance support for the NGINX Ingress Controller add-on. During this period, only critical security patches will be released to address major security issues.
- Future plan: An application ingress add-on based on the Gateway API will be released in the first half of 2026. A detailed migration guide will be provided simultaneously to assist with the transition.
- Other migration paths: If you prefer to migrate from Nginx ingresses earlier, you can migrate them to LoadBalancer ingresses. For details about the migration procedure and guidance, see Migrating Data from a Bring-Your-Own Nginx Ingress to a LoadBalancer Ingress.
You are advised to migrate applications based on service requirements. If you have any questions during the migration or require further technical support, submit a service ticket.
