Updating Statistics

Scenarios

You can update database object statistics to provide the query optimizer with the latest data distribution information.

Constraints

System databases' statistics cannot be updated.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the RDS console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
  3. On the Instances page, click the instance name to go to the Summary page.
  4. In the navigation pane, choose Databases and Accounts.
  5. On the Databases tab page, locate the target database and choose More > Update Statistics in the Operation column.
