Configuring Remote O&M for an MRS Cluster
If you encounter issues while using an MRS cluster and require assistance from technical support, you can use the remote O&M function to grant temporary access permissions to support engineers. MRS clusters support multiple remote O&M methods, including cluster node authorization (granting access permissions to cluster nodes), cluster page authorization (granting access permissions to MRS Manager pages), log sharing (sharing cluster logs generated within a specified time range), and metric sharing (sharing cluster monitoring metrics). Select the appropriate O&M method based on your fault locating requirements.
Enabling Remote Node O&M Authorization for an MRS Cluster
This authorization will allow O&M personnel to temporarily access your cluster nodes before the expiration time. You can also manually cancel the authorization in advance.
Cancel the authorization immediately after the issue is resolved to prevent security risks from prolonged access.
- Log in to the MRS console.
- In the navigation pane of the MRS console, choose , locate a running cluster, and click its name to switch to the cluster details page.
- In the upper right corner of the page, click O&M, choose Authorize for Cluster Nodes, and select the deadline for the Huawei Cloud support engineers to access the local host. Before the deadline, the support personnel have the temporary permission to access the local host.
- Select the check box to confirm authorization and click OK.
- After the fault is rectified, click O&M in the upper right corner of the page and choose Deauthorize for Cluster Nodes to retrieve the access permission granted to the Huawei Cloud support engineers.
Verify that the authorization has been successfully canceled on the Operation Logs page of the MRS console.
Configuring Remote O&M Log Sharing for an MRS Cluster
Log sharing allows you to share cluster logs generated within a specified time range with technical support personnel to analyze issues without directly accessing the cluster. This method requires no cluster access authorization, ensuring high security.
- Log in to the MRS console.
- In the navigation pane of the MRS console, choose , locate a running cluster, and click its name to switch to the cluster details page.
- In the upper right corner of the displayed page, choose O&M > Share Log.
- In the displayed dialog box, select the start time and end time in Time Range.
- Select Time Range based on the suggestions of Huawei Cloud support personnel.
- End Date must be later than Start Date. Otherwise, logs cannot be filtered by time.
On the log sharing page, check the current sharing status and time range to verify whether log sharing is active.
Configuring Remote O&M Metric Sharing for an MRS Cluster
Metric sharing allows you to share cluster monitoring metrics with Huawei Cloud support personnel to analyze cluster performance bottlenecks and resource usage. This method requires no cluster access authorization, ensuring high security.
- Log in to the MRS console.
- In the navigation pane of the MRS console, choose , locate a running cluster, and click its name to switch to the cluster details page.
- In the upper right corner of the page, click O&M and select Share Metric to enable metric sharing.
- After the fault is rectified, click O&M in the upper right corner of the page and select Disable Metric Sharing to cancel the access permission for the Huawei Cloud support personnel.
Verify that the authorization has been successfully canceled on the Operation Logs page of the MRS console.
