Viewing the Policy of a Vault

Scenarios

A policy defines key parameters such as the execution frequency and retention rule. You may need to view a configured policy for the following purposes:

  • Review backup or replication settings: Confirm that the backup or replication schedule (for example, every day at 02:00 a.m.) and retention (for example, the latest 30 backups) meet service requirements or the current compliance standards.
  • Confirm policy status: Ensure the backup or replication policy is successfully applied to the correct vault and is enabled, so tasks can be triggered as planned.
  • Identify exceptions: If backups or replications fail, do not run as scheduled, or have abnormal expiration times, check the policy details to see if there are misconfigurations (such as conflicting schedules or improper retention rules).
  • Assess before changes: Before modifying or deleting the policy, check the vaults the policy applies to and assess the backup or replication scope that may be affected to avoid unexpected interruptions to critical tasks.

This section describes how to quickly view information about created or applied policies in the policy list or on the vault details page.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the CBR console. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Policies.
  3. View the created policy in the policy list. In the search box above the list, you can select an attribute or enter a keyword to search for policies.

  4. After creating a policy and applying it to a vault, you can locate the vault and click its name to go to the details page to view the policy.
  5. View the policy applied to the vault.
