Changing from Pay-per-Use to Yearly/Monthly

  • Yearly/Monthly is a prepaid billing mode. You are billed based on the subscription duration you specify. This mode is ideal when the resource use duration is predictable. A longer subscription often means a lower cost.
  • Pay-per-use is a postpaid billing mode. You are billed based on your resource usage and you can increase or delete resources anytime. Fees are deducted from your account balance.

If you want to use a vault for a long time, you can change its billing mode from pay-per-use to yearly/monthly to reduce cost. If you change the billing mode from pay-per-use to yearly/monthly, a new order is generated. After you pay the order, the yearly/monthly resources take effect immediately. The billing cycle of the yearly/monthly CBR resources is determined by the duration you purchase (UTC+8:00). The billing cycle starts from the time when you enable or renew the resources (accurate to seconds) and ends at 23:59:59 on the expiration date.

This section describes how to change the billing mode to yearly-monthly.

Prerequisites

The vault's billing mode is pay-per-use.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the CBR console.

    1. Log in to the management console.
    2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
    3. Click and choose Storage > Cloud Backup and Recovery. Select the corresponding backup type from the navigation pane.

  2. Find the target vault and choose More > Change Billing Mode in the Operation column.
  3. Select the required duration for the vault, confirm information, and click Pay.
  4. Return to the vault list. You can see that the vault's Billing Mode has changed to Yearly/Monthly.
