OPS02-01 Managing Requirements and Sprint Development
- Risk level
High
- Key strategies
To ensure excellent cloud operations, prioritize availability, recoverability, and code quality during the design and development phases. You need to evaluate and understand the DFX requirements of software, including reliability, performance, serviceability, O&M, and deliverability, while incorporating regulatory, industry, and internal compliance requirements. In addition, Ensure adequate time and attention are allocated when prioritizing these requirements.
From a maintainability perspective, continuous iteration of cloud software updates is more O&M-friendly than disruptive one-time releases. Smaller updates reduce the risk of major incidents and keep development and O&M teams actively engaged, ensuring familiarity with processes and best practices. To enable iterative updates of cloud applications, sprint planning and tracking should start from the requirement phase, with iteration plans driven by specific requirements.
