Adding a BLU

Scenario

After developing big data applications based on service requirements, service developers need to deploy the applications as BLUs on the platform so that the applications can run and process service data.

This section describes how to use a BLU package to create a BLU in a group to deploy service applications.

Prerequisites

  • A group has been planned or created by referring to Creating a Group.
  • A BLU package has been obtained.

Procedure

  1. Log in to FusionInsight Manager.
  2. Choose Cluster > Services > Containers, and click the Business Manager tab.
  3. In the list box on the left, click the name of the group to which you want to add a BLU, and then click Add BLU.
  4. Upload the BLU package.

    1. On the Basic tab page, click Select File and select the BLU package to be uploaded.

The BLU package name can be in any of the following formats:

      • BLU package name-a.b.c.war
      • BLU package name-a.b.c.zip

The package name can contain 3 to 20 characters, including letters, numbers, and underscores (_). a.b.c indicates the version number. a, b, and c are integers ranging from 0 to 9999999999.

    2. (Optional) Enter the description of the BLU package to be uploaded. The value contains a maximum of 120 characters.
    3. Click Next.

  5. On the Configuration tab page, select the configuration sets required by the BLU.

    • To add a configuration set for the BLU, click Go to add a configuration set. In the dialog box that is displayed, click OK. For details about how to add a configuration set, see Creating a Group.
    • If there are two or more configuration sets and the priority of the configuration sets needs to be configured, select the configuration sets and click Set priority. In the dialog box that is displayed, click or in the Set Priority column to adjust the priority. Then, click OK.
      • The BLU package can also integrate configuration set files of the BLU. If different configuration set files contain same configuration files, the priorities of the configuration files in descending order are as follows: configuration files added through Custom Configuration, configuration files of a group, and configuration file integrated in a BLU package. You can select multiple configuration files of a group and specify their priorities. The file with a higher priority overwrites the file with a lower priority.
      • The default size limit for a single BLU package and configuration set is 300 MB.
    • If the BLU requires configuration files that are not in the current group configuration set due to service requirements, you can select Custom Configuration to make the Select File button available and click the button to add configuration files.

Click Next to access the Instance Deployment page.

  6. On the Instance Deployment page, select the container to be used by the BLU and click Submit.
