Monitoring EVS Metrics Using Cloud Eye
During routine data storage and processing, it is important to track EVS disk performance to keep services running smoothly. The default 5-minute monitoring interval may be too coarse for workloads that require more frequent updates. For this reason, you can use Cloud Eye Agent for EVS disk monitoring. The Agent collects metrics every minute, making it suitable for workloads that demand real-time monitoring.
Once the Agent is installed, you can gather detailed disk metrics, such as the read/write rate, average read/write latency, and disk I/O utilization. You can also set alarm rules based on these metrics. When any metric reaches the defined threshold, you will receive an alarm notification.
For how to install and configure the Agent, see Installing and Configuring the Agent.
To learn more about disk monitoring metrics, see EVS Monitoring Data Included in OS Metrics (with Agent Installed).
Viewing EVS Monitoring Data
- Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
- In the navigation pane on the left, choose Server Monitoring.
- On the Server Monitoring page, select the target server and click Install and Upgrade Agent on All Servers. Figure 1 Installing and upgrading the Agent on all servers
- Select an installation and upgrade option as required and click OK. (If the system displays a message indicating that the selection is not supported, manually install the Agent. For details, see Figure 3.) Figure 2 Selecting an installation and upgrade option
- After the installation is successful, select the target server and click View Metric in the Operation column. Figure 4 Viewing monitoring metrics
- Select a metric type and a period and click the Storage tab to view the disk and disk I/O metrics. Figure 5 Metric details
