OPS05-02 Conducting a Change Risk Control

  • Risk level

    High

  • Key strategies

Successful changes are maintained by developing risk control capabilities for various change scenarios, assessing and analyzing risks digitally, evaluating their impact, and implementing control measures to minimize or prevent risks. Change risks include service disruptions caused by adding, deleting, or modifying elements on the live network and changing statuses (such as version iteration, configuration change, and node scaling), as well as service loss risks stemming from change failures.

    Design suggestions

Change risk control metrics: These metrics are change incident rate and number of major incidents caused by changes.

Change incident rate: The ratio of change incidents that impact customers per month to the total changes.

Formula: Change incident rate = Number of incidents caused by changes/Total number of changes

Major incidents caused by changes: Incidents that are cased by changes per month and have great impact on customers.
